After reading recent reports that having a sitting job is a health risk all by itself independent of anything else like smoking, I have been longing for more moderate temperatures to return to a routine of walking during lunch.
Sitting can be dangerous as smoking
And as a cubicle dweller myself, I know that I get very little exercise during the business day Monday through Friday. It is so helpful and important to get a good walk in during lunch since many of those days I don't make the commitment to get a workout in at any other time. So now it is comforting to know that any increase in activity is helpful. One effort that I am making is to stand whenever I get or make a telephone call at work unless I have to be working right at my laptop during the call.
What other easy steps can I take to increase my burning of calories in my carpet box at work?
